Description
This hat was hanging in an antique store in a small store along I-5 between Centralia and Portland. I was amazed at what great shape it was in, considering that in came from the election of Truman in the 1950's (1945-1953). "Win with Dewey and Warren". Dewey was expected to beat Truman in the election, and in fact some papers had the headline that he had won before the final tallies were made. In those days a peaceful transition of power was a given. Sometimes I wish for those "good old days" of rational, reasonable politics. Anyway, this would be a great picture for Republican collectors of memorabilia out there.

Interesting! L
Jeff Burgess replied:
Still not sure I even like it, Marta.... but that hat... from a presidential election that elected Truman - who dropped the Atomic Bombs on Japan. So strange, since we are see another war with potential for nuclear holocaust.

Beautiful image with wonderful composition! L/T
Jeff Burgess replied:
Not my usual fare, but the fact that this old political hat was still around had me intrigued. Thanks for commenting and the L/T. I was about to remove it as there hasn't been much chatter about it. But now, just might keep it up for awhile. Regards.
