Description
This has been a turbulent time in American politics. The Presidential election has been marred by a candidate that appears to espouse politics of the Alt-right, a conservative, racist, anti-Semitic, misogynist and other negative attributes that have been put forth by what I hope is a minority of Americans. This work captures the negatives, the fracturing of the Republican as well as the Democratic parties, but also the potential emergence of something good and positive. But as the centipede suggests, there is an underlying evil that may prevent good emerging from bad. I am sorry to be so literal here, but it is sometimes useful to offer the artists opinion....in this case my own. But you should make your own interpretation about this work and the future. So this was 2016 and now we are confronting the same issues as then with the running of a candidate who represents fascism and more violence if he loses. This is the HOLE that the United States may find itself in if the pervasive anti-world, white nationalist, child-man without ethics or morals while feigning religious piety gains the Presidency.

I agree with everything you said.I fear for the future of our country and the loss of sanity. I keep telling myself, I'm old, not going to live much longer; but what about the young children who must enter the Future? Your artwork is excellent. L/F

Outstanding artwork, Jeff! Politics; what has the current administration done that's been been bad for China? MAGA I be!
Jeff Burgess replied:
Thanks for looking and commenting, Brenton. Not so sure I understand what you mean, but your response is appreciated.

I look at this work and I wonder your thoughts about your "president" now. To me, a Canadian, he's terrible and nothing what I think about what the government should be. No government is perfect, but my gosh, I'm so glad I live in this country and yours feels like a cesspool right now. I wish you luck and hope that you will be able to get this monster out in your next election. Your image certainly gets the point across and I think most people get it! :-) Maggie
Jeff Burgess replied:
Unfortunately, my worst fears have come true. He does a great disservice to the USA and democracy.

Perfectly put, Jeff. I was sickened by the results. I can only hope the results aren't a true foreboding of the future and that racism, hatred and ignorance haven't become our standard of behavior. Your image is a masterfully conceived statement. L/F
