Description
This image was prepared for the Seattle Barista Academy. It speaks to the warm taste and smell of fresh espresso. The Seattle Barista Academy is a pioneer in coffee and barista training in the Northwest. It is a wonderful place to just learn about coffee brewing methods or how to prepare espresso drinks like a barista. As their website states: "Experience the best in espresso education with hands-on training using professional espresso equipment. Learn to make a latte, cappuccino, macchiato, or mocha drink from start to finish. Differentiate yourself from your competition with latte art, etching, and other coffee presentation techniques". There are many, many coffee shops/cafes in the Northwest and particularly Seattle that are fun to hang out in. Most serve great coffee as well as pastries and other goodies. There is a walking tour of some places and the Seattle Barista Academy also offers a half day tour of the best places as a part of its training. People from all over the world come to Seattle and the Seattle Barista Academy to train in coffee and espresso preparation.

Not only have I learned about the Barrista Academy in Seattle, but you also remind me what, in the old days, the Old Masters forgot in their artistic portrayals: to introduce novelty. Coffee was a novelty in Europe since the discovery of the new continent, but I cannot remember any painter portraying such a tempting scent of coffee as you do. The clue is that you place this cup of coffee squarely in front of an 18th Century figure. Fantastic, Jeff!
Jeff Burgess replied:
Thanks so much Greta. When I was director of the SBA in Seattle I had an opportunity to photograph many wonderful coffee drinks. I agree that this one is quite unique and appealing. Thanks for the comment.

Just browsing through your portfolio and my jaw is dropping at the imagination, skill, creativity and execution of your artwork. This image is speaking to me right now because it is 8.45 am here in Ireland and I'm anticipating my morning coffee!
Jeff Burgess replied:
A wonderful comment. Thank you so much for this validation. It is much appreciated. And enjoy you coffee.
