Description
Captured this image of an abandoned farm barn on the West side of the Sierras in Northern California. The house and premises must have been vacated many years ago, leaving the grounds to seed and the structures to ruins. Sad day for the family or families that owned this place. It must have been hard to just pick up and go.....but go they did.

These kinds of images, Jeff, I love them as well. As much for the stories they're trying to tell us ... or warn us about ... as their own beauty and dignity. I call them images of Vanishing America. And whether they're the sweet old barns or sad, urban blight, there's a lot of story-telling in these kinds of images that just breaks the heart of those who care to listen. Magical artwork ... beautifully captured ... love the composition and oh those colors!!!!! l/f t and p

Yes, Lois, a sad commentary on, as you say, a vanishing America. There are so many farms like this around.
